SUSPENSION TECHNOLOGY

RECURVE (Argon/Xenon)
The ReCurve Suspension is our deluxe load carrier available on full-feature Argon and Xenon packs.

AIRSCAPE (Aether/Ariel, Kestrel, Sprint, Raptor)

With the multitude of upgrades and the lighter weight of the equipment you carry inside your pack, Aether and Ariel packs are designed to carry moderate loads. Need to carry the kitchen sink too? Simply put a BioFormCM hipbelt on your Aether or Ariel and you're all set!


AIRSPEED (Atmos/Aura, Exos, Stratos, Manta)
The AirSpeed suspension incorporates a LightWire Alloy frame with a 3D tensioned mesh backpanel. Additionally, side crescents provide further ventilation. All contact surfaces are either breathable mesh or perforated, molded waffle foam. Your experience is a pack fit with comfortable uniform body contact and no hot spots, whether you're bagging a fourteener, hiking the AT or pulling your next 24-hour race.

VARIANT

The Variant suspension is cusomized to each volume.  The Variant 52 features a removable HDPE framesheet with aluminum tubing frame.  The Variant 37 features an HDPE framesheet with 6061 aluminum stay.  The Variant 28 features a removable foam framesheet and sit pad.


WAYPOINT
A peripheral LightWire™ alloy frame, ridge-molded foam AirScape™ backpanel, torso adjustable gender specific harness and a built-in ErgoPull™ hipbelt provide the suspension of a technical backcountry backpack.


HIGH ROAD™ CHASSIS (Meridian, Sojourn, Vector, Slipstream)
All Osprey wheeled travel packs utilize Osprey’s proprietary High Road™ Chassis featuring an ergonomic retractable handle with integrated vent fins, a 6001 Aluminum frame, ultra-durable and light-weight composite base with a fiberglass matrix inlay and integrated foot/grab handle, over-sized high traction polyurethane wheels with sealed bearings and a high clearance design.

OSPREY HYDRAULICS™

AT OUR HOME BASE in the Desert Southwest, all outdoor exploration inevitably requires constant hydration. As active users we sought to bring our gear carrying expertise to hydration – carry, comfort and fit.

HydraForm™ Reservoir

The reservoir design sandwiches an anatomically shaped molded plastic sheet between a layer of nylon fabric and the reservoir back. This forces the reservoir to conform to the back’s complex shape, even when full. The result is a more precise, stable and comfortable fit. Additionally, this reservoir has a rigid handle/spine that stabilizes the load of the water while also serving as a more convenient design to slide the reservoir into the pack.


Osprey/Nalgene® Reservoir Technology

Built to pharmaceutical biocompatibility specifications to assure taste and odor free hydration Contains AquaGuard™ anti-microbial formula to prevent bacteria and mold BPA and PVC free.


HydraLock™

The HydraLock™ internal frame provides a dedicated space for the reservoir, so that cargo volume is not affected by a full reservoir. It effectively squeezes the reservoir, supplying hydraulic pressure to increase the flow and minimize water motion. It also provides a perfect anchor point for the vertical spine of the reservoir, preventing lateral instability and locking the water load in the overall pack structure. The reservoir is further compressed at the top end with load lifter straps. This keeps the pack stabilized during recurring and unexpected motion.



Osprey Design and Technology

A BioStretch™ harness and hipbelt are made with mesh covered die-cut foam that allow free body motion with minimal pack bounce. The chest strap is elastic and includes a magnet for quick bite valve attachment
